I get fairly regular emails asking for details about the design of ImageArcade, what technology it uses, how certain features are achieved etc.
I’ve recently put this news post together to outline some of the ins and outs, so take a look at that if you’re interested in the site functionality. ImageArcade is built using WordPress, which is (in my view) a particularly brilliant (and free!) CMS authoring tool that runs on PHP. The site originally used a WordPress theme called ‘Black Canvas’ from StudioPress (see here for a little more on that), but has since been heavily customised by yours truly.
Most of the customisation has been in the form of JQuery plug-ins to add functionality such as the image-rotator on the homepage and the accordion menu in the right-hand sidebar.
Introductions via this site have lead to me becoming involved in a number of web projects, so if you think I can help you out shoot on over to the contact page and drop me an email.
